New In - Striped Fabric

While out thrifting I managed to find fabric that I think would fit perfectly as a blanket piece that I've been craving lately. There isn't as much of it as I would like, but there is definitely enough to make something fun and warm. I originally wanted to make a blanket coat with a big exaggerated collar but with this fabric I'll have to go in a different direction. I haven't decided yet, but this will probably end up being a poncho or a sweater with a wide collar. I will definitely show you the end product!

New In - Printed Blouse

A little over a week ago I made a post about my love of printed blouses for fall, and voila, I managed to snatch a new one for myself. I wasn't looking to buy a new blouse but then I saw this one... I had to have it. I personal love abstract/graphic prints over any other print, so whenever I see one, there is a definite yearning to own. I like this long-sleeve blouse because I can wear it whenever and however I want.

New In - African Waxprint Fabric

I recently spent a couple days in Stockholm, which means... I had time to do some shopping. In between checking out clothes, I stopped by a fabric shop looking for something interesting. That's when I happened upon this beauty. I've always wanted to make something out of an African waxprint. Unfortunately, they've never sold any at my local Montreal fabric store. Obviously I'm super excited I found this in Stockholm. I have no clue what I'll make out of it but I am really happy I bought it nonetheless.

New In - Brown Lace Fabric

I know I showed new fabric just a couple days ago but I'm quite excited about this. Unlike the last fabric, I know exactly what I'm going to make out of this. I recently visited a local thrift shop and saw these curtains that I knew I wanted to sew a skirt out of. I have everything I need to get started and hopefully my new skirt will be up soon!

New In - Cotton Flag Fabric

Last week I decided to venture out and visit Karlstad. While walking aimlessly around the city center I found a fabric store. I wasn't planning on doing any shopping but I did end up buying this piece here. I'm not entirely sure what I am going to make with it yet, but I'm thinking maybe an easy sheath dress.

New In - Sunnies

I was on the hunt for a pair of sunglasses that were a little more playful than serious. I found this pair for cheap, which is my #1 prerequisite for sunglasses. I only do cheap sunnies because it doesn't matter how high quality they are, I'll find a way to break them. So when I quickly saw this black pair with reflective lenses I grabbed them for a quirkier look. They're not exactly brand new but a newish addition to my collection.

New In - Printed Linen Top

After a slight hiatus, I'm back to sewing pieces regularly. Let me introduce you to my new top. Technically this is another floral piece but it's also a slightly abstract print so you can't really tell. It is going to be a layering piece for my wardrobe and it will fit right in with all the other blue pieces.

New In - Diy Abstract Print Tank

I've been working on a whole bunch of black projects that I decided I needed some colour or I'd go crazy! Say hello to my new tank top. If the print looks a little familiar, then you might be thinking of this dress I made a while ago. The tank is made from a different part of the fabric so it's more colourful than the dress.  The fabric is a bit transparent which made having the blue sections covering certain parts of the body important. Obviously I'd most likely wear it with a tank underneath but you can barely see anything with just a bra.

I usually like my tops a little bit longer but this was really absolutely everything I had left of this fabric, so I'm lucky it's even this long.

New In - Sewing Book

I just finished reading the newest book in my collection. I haven't been formally trained in sewing, but considering half the clothes I wear I've either made or have tailored, it helps to learn more about the subject. I loved this book because it was a really easy read that helped teach some pretty important concepts. I would definitely recommend the book for those starting out.

New In - Vintage Leather Capelet

On occasions I find something that I'm not entirely sure I'll ever wear but just too enamored to not buy. Let me introduce you to something that definitely falls in that category; my new leather capelet. We'll see if It ever finds it's way into an outfit of mine!

New In- Next Project

I recently thrifted this suede trench for $12 with the intention to tailor it a bit to wear. Obviously I was swayed a bit by the price because that's the only way I can explain why I bought a coat that's a horrible colour for my skin tone. My new idea is turning it into a new purse, clutch, and crop top!

New In- Camo Pants

I already have a pair of camo jeans but these only set me back $20. I mean you can never have enough pairs of jeans... amirite?
