What I Wore - Black & White Wrap Dress

I don't usually get Septembers like this so I've been taking advantage of it. I've been pulling out dresses and skirts like my life depended on it.

I've mentioned before the only issue I have with dresses is they don't offer as much of an opportunity to change how an outfit looks. Usually I rely on accessories to alter my looks; this time however, I added a bodysuit with cap sleeves to change things up. I really like how it looks like a different dress with the bodysuit!

What I Wore - Plaid Skirt

There are leaves on the ground like it's fall but the weather still feels very summery. It's actually nice enough outside that I'm still rocking miniskirts. I showed you this skirt before but never got a picture up of how it looks like on.

I like the fact that it's a skirt with pockets but the pockets I chose to add might not have been the best choice. I added the pockets so that they protrude out a bit because I thought that would be cute. But the protruding pockets and having fabric that wrinkles easily means the pockets just look wrinkly most of the time. I still like the skirt and wore it often this summer but it just didn't end up being a great as it could have been.

What I Wore - New Cowl

I've been on a bit of a knit binge recently. Not only have I been knitting a lot, but I've also been wearing a lot of knit pieces. It's been a while since I've posted a 'What I Wore' so here's an outfit that includes my latest cowl.

What I Wore - Red & Seafoam

I've been told I don't dress for cool weather like other people do. My counter-argument is I'm a Canadian with viking blood, I don't feel cold weather... The reality though? I love skirts & dresses so much it takes quite a dip in temperature for me to retire them for fall.

What I Wore - Pleated Crop Top & Shorts

When I get some free time I've gotten into the habit of going on bike rides. Today I threw on my pleated crop top and some shorts and got out into the warm weather that I'm sure isn't going to last much longer.

What I Wore - Flag Crop Top & Shorts

It's been hot enough this week that I've been able to dress for the summer. I pulled out one of my crop tops that you've seen on the blog before (here). Looking at this picture I realize that sometimes I should remember to pull out an iron every once in a while.

What? An outfit without a single piece I've sewn? Every once and a while, it happens.

What I Wore - Geometric Skirt & Boyfriend Blazer

I post a lot about the clothes I make, but I'm not entirely sure if it comes across how often I wear them. I figured it might help showing the different ways I've actually worn my diys. It would have been easier to just pair this skirt with just a beige/white shirt like I did before, but instead I decided to do a little print mixing. I decided since the top and skirt both have a similar shade of beige in them they would totally match (who knows if others would agree). The oversized blazer is a great thrift find that would help tie the whole look together.

What I Wore - Lots of Denim

The other day I while getting dressed; I had to take a second and just marvel at how much of my clothes I've sewn myself. There's something incredibly satisfying about putting on clothes that you've sewed with your own two hands. I just feel a lot better knowing that my obsession with fashion has moved to a place where I no longer have to worry about my over consumption of fast fashion. It's also great knowing that even though I'm not shopping as much, I still get to have a wardrobe filled with things I love and want to wear.

What I Wore - Green Winter Staple

Back in the fall when I posted about searching for a new jacket (x), I did end up finding the one I'm wearing in the photo. I'm used to cold Canadian winters (it's been -20 for like 3 weeks straight back in Montreal) so I thought it would be a fall jacket only. But since the weather has hovered around 0 (usually on the plus side), I've been able to wear this coat quite often this winter. It's rain and wind proof which makes it a lot warmer than I thought it would be.

Weirdly enough, green is one of my least liked colours. Somehow though, olive green is one of my favourite colours. I haven't posted many outfit photos because this is basically what I've worn more than half the time.

What I Wore - Blue Once Again

Cold weather means layering all winter long. Not out of place to see me doing it in one of my favourite colours -> blue. It's also great pulling my new long sleeve shirt out and getting some wear out of it. The only slightly difference in my clothing choice is the footwear. After wearing boots for so long its great when there is less snow and I can leave the boots in the closet.

What I Wore - Blanket Poncho

There has been quite a bit of snow recently which makes me both happy and miss home. I like nothing better than when it's sunny/warm and I'm surrounded by snow.

What I Wore - Denim on Denim

Amazing how simple it is to get dressed when you have an incredibly basic wardrobe. It takes two seconds to decide what to wear when you only have a handful of winter appropriate clothes. The thing is, I don't care if it is faster, I miss having options! I'm in the process of sewing a few things and have definite plans to break my shopping hiatus. Back to options for this gal.

What I Wore - Black & Grey

Happy New Year!!! I realize i am a couple days late but what’s the point of the holidays if you can't have them off? I tend to not recognize the New Year until my birthday, it’s a habit of being an early January baby.

So far this winter, on the cold days, I have been living in this grey coat. Technically it's my mother's, but she has parted from it, so I’ve been wearing like it is mine. Most of the clothes I can wear in the cold are either black or grey so it has worked out.  Pairing the grey coat with the all black look stops it from looking too dark and moody.

The New Year signals new posts. I have quite a few things in the woodwork for the blog. I'm sure just like every other blogger, I've started the new year with the goal of posting regularly and more often. See you guys soon with more diys, outfits, and fashion posts!

What I Wore - Red & Black Layering

I've been really bad at posting recently which I'll hopefully change. Every once in a while I just go weeks without posting. Sometimes it's because I don't take any pictures but sometimes it's just me getting lazy and not wanting to go on blogger. Recently it's been a case of the latter. This picture was from a little while ago because recently I've been living in my sweats!

What I Wore - Peplum Blazer

I don't know if I ever got around to showing the polka dot tank that I made a while back but here it is out in the wild.

What I Wore - Black on Black / Leather on Leather

Fall is turning out to be cool and extremely dark, the same can be said about what I'm wearing.

What I Wore - Various Browns

I've mentioned I don't like wearing browns and yet here's an outfit featuring multiple shades. Nothing against the colour itself, I just don't like the idea of wearing the same colour as my skin. Personally I like the idea of contrast.
