Finished - Transparent Black Fringe Top

I bought this fabric a long time ago and loved how fun it was. The black fringy chiffon pieces on the transparent fabric were unique and beautiful. I'm a big fan of playful fabrics and really loved the way this dress turned out. The only negative thing about party dresses is the amount of wear they get. Obviously that sucks when you really love what you made. I decided to fix that by making a very similar tank top which could get a lot more wear.

I finished this top a while ago and just never got around to showing it here on the blog. It has definitely gotten a lot of wear since I've finished it. You'd think that a transparent fringe top wouldn't be normal day wear but that's probably because you're not me. It's black so it doesn't stand out that much but the texture helps add interest to any outfit. I also personally love transparent tops because you can add a different level of interest to it by changing up what you wear underneath. You can choose different colours or styles of tanks to wear underneath which makes it look a bit different every time you wear it. You might be able to see in this photo that this time I chose a black lace bodysuit which gives it even more layers to the look. I'm a big fan of layering which makes this top a perfect addition to my wardrobe.

Finished - Yellow Striped Jacket

I still have quite a few pieces I haven't gotten around to posting on the blog. The goal is to get them up before the New Year. So first on the list is this striped jacket. At the time I bought a fabric that I wanted to make a kimono wrap like jacket but I wanted to try the idea out first in something else. I had this yellow fabric laying around so I decided to try the jacket idea out first.

Considering it's cold outside longer than it's warm, the more jackets/long-sleeves the better. This jacket turned out better than I expected it to be. I decided very quickly after sewing this beaut up I would get right on sewing another up!

Finished - Striped Winter Coat

As someone who has always lived somewhere that has cold winters, I have a special place in my heart for a winter coat. Considering for a large chunk of the year all anyone sees is your coat, I'm a big believer in having a few to wear. It's taken couple of weeks to share but here's a look at my newest coat.

Finished - Matelasse Shawl Collar Blazer

Since I've been slacking in the blogging department I've never gotten around to showing you my newest blazer. My first post of 2016 is a project from 2015 I never got around to posting.  If you follow my Instagram then you know it doesn't actually fit into the Just Finished category (so here's a new category... just "finished") but what the heck, here it is!

New In - Diy Mint Green Tank Dress

I walked past this fabric at the fabric store and knew I had to buy it. I really like a mint green/seafoam green colour but don't actually own anything in that colour. Personally I thought the fabric was nice enough that I didn't need to do anything complicated with it.

This is a favourite fit and shape for a dress. Just simple and lose with a curved hem. The extra panel was added mostly because I love drapey dresses and this gives me the option of making it look drapey.
